Eight dengue patients die; 1895 hospitalized in 24 hrs

Eight dengue patients died and 1,895 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours.

With the latest death, a total of 1,425 people died of dengue to date this year, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said on Tuesday.

Currently, 6,555 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.

Of them, 1,722 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 4,833 are in other divisions.

As many as 2,83,593 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 2,75,613 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
