Nine dengue patients die; 1794 hospitalized in 24 hrs

Nine dengue patients died and 1,794 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours.

With the latest death, a total of 1,417 people died of dengue to date this year, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said on Monday.

Currently, 6,662 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.

Of them, 1,807 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 4,855 are in other divisions.

As many as 2,81,698 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 2,73,619 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
