15 dengue patients die; 2103 hospitalized in 24 hrs

Fifteen dengue patients died and 2,103 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours.

With the latest death, a total of 1,408 people died of dengue to date this year, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said on Sunday.

Currently, 6,704 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.

Of them, 1,815 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 4,889 are in other divisions.

As many as 2,79,904 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 2,71,792 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
