15 dengue patients die; 1728 hospitalized in 24 hrs

Fifteen dengue patients died and 1,728 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours.

With the latest death, a total of 1,370 people died of dengue to date this year, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said on Thursday.

Currently, 6,270 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.

Of them, 1,762 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 4,508 are in other divisions.

As many as 2,74,806 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 2,67,166 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
