CEC to meet Chief Justice on Wednesday

The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal will hold a meeting with Chief Justice Obaidul Hassan on Wednesday afternoon.

The meeting will be held at the Supreme Court Judges Lounge at 3pm. 

The Election Commission members will present at the meeting during this time.

Mohammad Saifur Rahman, Registrar of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, confirmed the matter to Jago News.  

Several issues including the 12th national parliamentary election schedule will be discussed in the meeting, it is learnt. 

However, EC Secretary Jahangir Alam said the schedule for the national election will be announced in the first week of November. The parliamentary polls will be held in the last week of December this year, or in the first week of January 2024.
