11 dengue patients die; 1917 hospitalized in 24 hrs

Eleven dengue patients died and 1,917 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours.

With the latest death, a total of 1,295 people died of dengue to date this year, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said on Wednesday.

Currently, 7,599 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.

Of them, 2,162 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 5,437 are in other divisions.

As many as 2,60,829 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 2,51,935 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
