Bangladesh is observing a daylong state mourning on Saturday to commemorate the deaths of the Palestinian citizens in Israel attacks.

All government, semi-government and autonomous organisations, educational institutions, government and non-government buildings and Bangladesh missions abroad are keeping the national flags at half-mast, demonstrating condolence.

Earlier, Special prayers were offered at all the mosques across the country after Jummah prayers on Friday and other worship places, seeking eternal peace of the departed souls and quick recovery of the injured Palestinians.

The government on Thursday issued a gazette to observe one-day state mourning.

However, the death toll of those killed since October 7 in the Gaza Strip has climbed to 4,127, including 1,661 children, according to a spokesperson for the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza.

An additional 13,162 people have been injured, spokesperson Ashraf Al-Qidra said.
