Father, son get life for murder in Joypurhat

A court in Joypurhat has sentenced a man and his son to life-term imprisonment for the murder of a man over previous enmity.
The lifers are Motlab, a resident of Zitarpur village in Sadar upazila and his son Babu. They both are on the run.
Joypurhat Senior Sessions Judge Noor Islam delivered the verdict on Thursday.
The court also fined them Tk 10,000 each and in default, they will have to serve another year in jail.
The court's public prosecutor advocate Nripendranath Mondal Roy confirmed the matter to Jago News.
The case statement said the accused beat up Ali Ahmed, a resident of Zitarpur village, on February 13, 2005, over a previous enmity, leaving him seriously injured.
After four days, he succumbed to his injuries at Joypurhat Adhunik District Hospital.
Later, his wife Sazeda Begum filed a case in this connection.
