Doa mahfil for Dr Rahmatullah on Wednesday
A doa and milad mahfil for the Vice Chancellor of University of Development Alternative (UODA) Professor Dr Mohammed Rahmatullah will be held at UODA auditorium in the capital’s Dhanmondi at 4pm on Wednesday.
A globally renowned researcher and scientist Dr Rahmatullah passed away on October 11.
All teachers, officers and employees of the university have been requested to attend the programme, said a press release on Tuesday.
Dr. Rahmatullah, who had been working since 2002 at the UODA as Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences, was selected among the top two percent of the most cited scientists in the world in a prestigious journal article published by Stanford University-based researchers in the USA in 2020.
His work during the period of 2009-2019 was in the field of ‘Natural Products and Drug Discovery’ and consisted of pharmacological studies on medicinal plants obtained in ethnomedicinal surveys from folk and tribal medicinal practitioners.
