Youth gets life for raping disabled teenager

A court in Bandarban has sentenced a young man to life-term imprisonment for raping a disabled teenager.

Lifer Altaz Uddin, 34, is a resident of Kathalchhara area under ward no. 7 of no. 3 Fasiakhali union in Lama upazila.

The district Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal judge Begum Zebunnahar Ayesha delivered the verdict on Sunday.

The case statement said Altaz raped the disabled teenager in their house in Shamukchhara Mukh area on December 8, 2021, when other family members were out of home.

Later, her mother filed a case with Lama Police Station in this connection.

The tribunal's public prosecutor advocate Basing Thoai Marma confirmed the matter to Jago News.
