Two brothers get life for murder in Noakhali

A court in Noakhali has sentenced two brothers to life-term imprisonment in a murder case.

The lifers are Mithu Chandra Das and Zitu Chandra Das, residents of Madhya Charbata village in Subarnachar upazila.

Noakhali District and Sessions Judge Nilufer Sultana delivered the verdict on Tuesday afternoon.

The court also fined them Tk 10,000 each and in default, they will have to serve another year in jail.

Public prosecutor (PP) advocate Gulhar Ahmed Jewel Roy confirmed the matter to Jago News. 

The court sources said Kamrul Islam Sagor and Mithu Chandra Das both loved a girl and at one stage, Mithu asked Sagor to leave her.

On June 9, 2018, Mithu and Zitu strangulated Sagor to death after he refused to leave her.
