Seven dengue patients die; 2742 hospitalized in 24 hrs

Seven dengue patients died and 2,742 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours.

With the latest death, a total of 1,086 people died of dengue to date this year, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said on Sunday.

Currently, 8,800 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.

Of them, 2,826 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 5,974 are in other divisions.

As many as 2,23,564 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 2,13,678 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
