Ishtiaq gets bail in case over attack on Bernicat's convoy

Sushashoner Jonno Nagorik Secretary Badiul Alam Majumdar's brother-in-law Md Ishtiaq Mahmud has been granted bail in a case over the attack on the convoy of former US Ambassador to Bangladesh Marcia Bernicat.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Nurul Huda Chowdhury passed the order on Thursday after police had produced him before the court.
Earlier on Wednesday, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Zaki Al Farabi accepted a chargesheet in the lawsuit and issued an arrest warrant against Ishtiaq as he was on the run.
Hours after the issuance of the warrant, police apprehended him.
Shujan Secretary Badiul Alam Majumdar filed the case with Mohammadpur Police Station on August 10, 2018, for the attack that took place on August 4, 2018.
