16 dengue patients die; 3008 hospitalized in 24 hrs

Sixteen dengue patients died and 3,008 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours.

With the latest death, a total of 909 people died of dengue to date this year, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said on Sunday.

Currently, 10,470 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.

Of them, 3,794 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 6,676 are in other divisions.

As many as 1,87,725 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 1,76,346 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
