A court in Dhaka has placed three people on a four-day remand and three others on a two-day remand in a case over question paper leak in medical admission tests.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mainul Islam passed the order on Sunday after police had produced them before the court, seeking a 10-day remand against each.

The court also ordered to send four other accused to jail, rejecting a remand plea against them.

They are Mustahin Hasan Lamia, Dr Nazia Mehzabin Tisha, 24, Maitri Saha, 27, and Dr Sabrina Nusrat Reza Tushi, 25.

A total of 17 accused gave their confessional statement in the case, and Dr Sharmishtha Mondal, 26, and Dr Luis Shourav Sarker, 30, last confessed to their offenses in the court on August 22.

The Cyber Police Center (CPC) under the Police's Criminal Investigation Department (CID) found a syndicate that regularly leaks questions in the admission tests for the country's government and private medical colleges.

A case was filed with Mirpur Police Station on July 20, 2020, in this connection under section 4/13 of the Public Examinations (Offences) Act and section 22(2)/23(2) of the Digital Security Act.
