18 dengue patients die; 3122 hospitalized in 24 hrs

Eighteen dengue patients died and 3,122 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours.

With the latest death, a total of 822 people died of dengue to date this year, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said on Sunday.

Currently, 10,437 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.

Of them, 4,066 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 6,371 are in other divisions.

As many as 1,67,684 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 1,56,425 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
