Step-mother to die for killing daughter in Gazipur

A Gazipur Court on Sunday convicted a woman and sentenced her to death over killing her step daughter at Ayichapara area at Tongi of the district in 2-15.

The convict is Shakila Jahan Morium, 30, wife of Shofiul Alam.

The court also fined her tk 10,000.

According to prosecution, Shakila chopped Sadia Alam Joya, 14, her step daughter to death while she was sleeping and her father was outside of home on June 13, 2015.  

Later, she tried to dispose the dead body at toilet.

Shofiul filed a case with Tongi Police Station against Shakila in this connection.  


After examining all the records and witnesses, District and Session Judge AKM Enamul Haque handed down the verdict.
