ADC Harun withdrawn

Additional Deputy Commissioner Harun Or Rashid of Ramna Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police has been withdrawn and attached to DMP's Public Order Management (POM) Division.

An order, signed by DMP Commissioner Khandaker Golam Faruque, said this on Sunday but it did not cite any reason for the withdrawal.

Earlier this afternoon, the DMP commissioner said ADC Harun was withdrawn over the alleged beating up of two central leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League taking them to police station.

Asked DMP Joint Commissioner Biplob Kumar Sarker, he had said an investigation committee would be formed over the incident.

It was learned that ADC Harun was gossiping with a woman at BIRDEM General Hospital, Dhaka on Saturday night. At that time, the woman's husband along with two central leaders of BCL went there.

At one stage, Harun and the BCL leaders locked into an altercation and scuffle, and later, he along with the police force took the duo to Shahbagh Police Station and beat up them.
