Father, son killed in Satkhira road accident

A man and his son were killed and his wife was injured as a bus rammed his motorcycle in Assasuni upazila of Satkhira on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Subrata Sarker Bappi, 30, and a resident of Bolabaria village in the upazila and his son Pabitra Sarker Turza, 4.

The incident took place at Keranimor of Sriula area around 2 pm.

Assasuni Police Station officer in-charge Bishwajit Adhikari confirmed the incident.

Police and witnesses said a bus hit Subrata's motorcycle in Keranimor area when he was returning home from Assasuni, leaving him and his son dead on the spot and his wife Shyamali Sarker injured.

Later, Shyamali was admitted to Assasuni Upazila Health Complex.

Police, however, seized the bus and detained its driver Nizam Mondal, a resident of Bakchara area in the district.
