Police rescue newborn stolen from DMCH
Police have rescued a newborn baby stolen from a ward of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Harun Or Rashid of Ramna Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police confirmed the matter on Saturday night.
He said a woman stole a newborn baby named Abdullah from Ward No. 106 of DMCH on Thursday.
With the help of CCTV footage and technology, police, later, rescued the child from Kamrangichar in Dhaka on that night, ADC Harun added.
But the official could not say whether anyone was arrested in this connection.
The victim's father Hiran, a resident of Rupnagar in the capital's Mirpur, filed a case with Shahbagh Police Station over the theft on Thursday.
Earlier on August 26, Hiran's wife Shahina gave birth to Abdullah at Ward No. 106 of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
