Nine dengue patients die; 1960 hospitalized in 24 hrs

Nine dengue patients died and 1,960 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours.

With the latest death, a total of 537 people died of dengue to date this year, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said on Saturday.

Currently, 8,236 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.

Of them, 3,846 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 4,390 are in other divisions.

As many as 1,12,184 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 1,03,411 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
