10 dengue patients die; 2134 hospitalized in 24 hrs

Ten dengue patients died and 2,134 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours.

With the latest death, a total of 476 people died of dengue to date this year, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said on Sunday.

Currently, 7,582 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.

Of them, 3,532 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 4,050 are in other divisions.

As many as 99,994 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 91,934 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
