13 dengue patients die; 1983 hospitalized in 24 hrs

Thirteen dengue patients died and 1,983 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours.

With the latest death, a total of 466 people died of dengue to date this year, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said on Saturday.

Currently, 7,895 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.

Of them, 3,691 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 4,206 are in other divisions.

As many as 97,860 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 89,499 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
