Nine dengue patients die; 2288 hospitalized in 24 hrs

Nine dengue patients died and 2,288 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours.

With the latest death, a total of 444 people died of dengue to date this year, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said on Thursday.

Currently, 8,661 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.

Of them, 3,804 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 4,857 are in other divisions.

As many as 94,312 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 85,207 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
