Nine dengue patients die; 2149 hospitalized in 24 hrs

Nine dengue patients died and 2,149 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours.

With the latest death, a total of 435 people died of dengue to date this year, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said on Wednesday.

Currently, 9,165 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.

Of them, 4,002 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 5,163 are in other divisions.

As many as 92,024 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 82,424 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
