Dhaka Medical student found hanging in hostel room

A female student of Dhaka Medical College (DMC) has been found hanging inside her hostel room on Wednesday morning. 

Joya Kunda, 22, fifth year student of the DMC, was recovered in an unconscious state from room number 45 of Dr Alim Chowdhury Hall around 10am. 

She was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the on-duty doctor declared her dead.

Her brother Partha Kunda said being informed he went to the hostel room and saw his sister hanging from the ceiling fan. Later, she was taken to the hospital where the doctor declared her dead. 

Md Bachchu Miah, Inspector and In-charge of DMCH police camp, said body of the deceased was kept at the hospital’s morgue for autopsy. The concerned police station was informed about it.
