10 dengue patients die; 1984 hospitalized in 24 hrs

Ten dengue patients died and 1,984 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours.

With the latest death, a total of 426 people died of dengue to date this year, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said on Tuesday.

Currently, 9,117 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.

Of them, 4,010 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 5,107 are in other divisions.

As many as 89,875 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 80,332 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
