Light to moderate rain likely over country
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over the country, said a met office forecast for the next 24 hours commencing at 9 am on Friday.
"Light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Barishal and Chattogram divisions; and at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Khulna and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi and Dhaka divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over the country", said the met office forecast.
Day temperature may rise slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, the forecast begins at 9 am today.
The monsoon Depression over North Chhattisgarh & adjoining area moved West-northwestwards, weakened into a Well-marked low over North Chhattisgarh & adjoining Northeast Madhya Pradesh-Southeast Uttar Pradesh.
It is likely to move West-northwestwards and weaken further. The axis of monsoon trough runs through Punjab, Haryana,Centre of the Well-marked low, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh.
One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate to strong over North Bay.
Country's maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded by 34.2 degree celsius at Dimla while the lowest temperature today was recorded by 24.7 degree celsius at Bandarban.
Country's highest rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6 am today was recorded by 99 millimeters (mm) at Feni.
The sun sets at 06.40 pm today and rises at 05.29 am tomorrow in the capital Dhaka.
