10 dengue patients die; 2589 hospitalized in 24 hrs

Ten dengue patients died and 2,589 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours (from Wednesday 8 am to Thursday 8 am).

With the latest death, a total of 283 people died of dengue to date this year, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said.

Currently, 9,210 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.

Of them, 4,650 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 4,560 are in other divisions.

As many as 59,716 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 50,223 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
