Detainee commits suicide in N’ganj jail

A detainee reportedly committed suicide in Narayanganj District Jail on Saturday morning.

The deceased was identified as Imran, 26, son of Abdur Rahim, a resident of Adamjinagar Buhari colony and arrested in a violence case of Siddirganj.

Md Asadur Rahman, Jailer of Narayanganj District Jail said in the morning Imran went into a washroom and hanged himself with a road of the ceiling around 11am.

Later, police rescued him alive and sent to Narayanganj General Hospital where on duty doctors declared him dead.
