Two get jail unto death for killing child after rape

A court in Narayanganj on Sunday sentenced two people to imprisonment until death for the murder of a child after rape.

Those who were sentenced are Sumon, 34, a resident of Alinagar in Sonargaon of Narayanganj and Shafiqul Islam, 35, from Paicharchar in Narsingdi.

Narayanganj Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge Nazmul Haqie Shyamal handed down the verdict.

The court's public prosecutor (PP) advocate Rakibuddin Ahmed Rakib confirmed the matter.

A seven-year-old child was murdered after rape in Painadi area of Siddhirganj on February 21 of 2018.

Later, the victim's maternal uncle Nazrul Islam filed a case in this connection.
