National polls schedule not before October: CEC
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal has said they will not announce the national polls schedule before October but the election will be held on time.
CEC said this at Nirbachan Bhaban in the capital’s Agargaon on Sunday.
Earlier, four election observers from the United States, China, Japan and Ireland held a meeting with the Election Commission.
The delegation, invited by the Election Monitoring Forum (EMF), includes US political analyst Terry L Isley, European Union political affairs journalist Nick Paul from Ireland, social activist Yusuki Sugu from Japan, and Chinese political analyst Andy Lin.
After the meeting, US observer Terry L Isley told journalists the demand of caretaker government is unconstitutional and illegal in current situation. Your constitution does not allow the caretaker government.
