17 held for selling and consuming drugs in Dhaka

Seventeen people have been arrested for their alleged involvement in selling and consuming drugs in the capital Dhaka. 

The Crime and Detective Branches of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in separate drives held them from 6am on Saturday to 6am on Sunday. 

The DMP also sized 566 pieces of yaba tablets, 160 puria (small packet) of heroin and 3.1kg cannabis from their possessions. 

Sixteen cases were filed against them with the concerned police stations under Narcotics Control Act.
