Voting underway in Chattogram-10 by-polls

The voting in the by-election to Chattogram-10 parliamentary constituency is underway on Sunday.
Electronic voting machines or EVMs are being used in this election.
The voting began at 8 am and will continue till 4 pm without any break.
Six candidates, including Awami League’s Md Mohiuddin Bachchu are contesting the by-polls.
The other contestants are - Jatiya Party’s Md Shamsul Alam, Trinamool BNP’s Deepak Kumar Palit, Bangladesh Sangskritik Mukti Jote’s Rashid Mia, independent candidates Manjurul Islam Bhuiyan and Arman Ali.
The Parliament Secretariat declared Chattogram-10 constituency (Double Mooring-Halishahar-Khulshi-Katalganj) vacant following the demise of Awami League lawmaker Afsarul Amin on June 2.
