Nine dengue patients die; 2292 hospitalized in 24 hrs

Nine dengue patients died and 2,292 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours (from Saturday 8 am to Sunday 8 am).

With the latest death, a total of 176 people died of dengue to date this year, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said.

Currently, 7,175 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.

Of them, 4,149 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 3,026 are in other divisions.

As many as 32,977 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 25,626 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
