Nine dengue patients die; 1755 hospitalized in 24 hrs

Nine dengue patients died and 1755 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours (from Wednesday 8 am to Thursday 8 am).

With the latest death, a total of 155 people died of dengue to date this year, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said.

Currently, 5,937 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.

Of them, 3,522 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 2,415 are in other divisions

As many as 27,547 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 21,455 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
