4 Pirojpur Razakars get death penalty

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 has sentenced four Razakars from Bhandaria upazila in Pirojpur to death in a crimes against humanity case.

The three-member ICT-1 panel headed by Justice Md Shahinur Islam passed the order on Thursday. 

The two other members of the panel are Justice Abu Ahmed Jomadar and Justice KM Hafijul Alam. 

The four death-row convicts are Abdul Mannan Howlader, Ashraf Ali alias Asrab Ali Howlader, Md Moharaj Howlader alias Hatkata Moharaj and Md Nurul Amin Howlader.

Of the four, Hatkata Moharaj is on bail and Md Nurul Amin Howlader is yet to be arrested.

All the four were activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and joined local Razakar Bahini as the war began in 1971. They actively participated and committed heinous crimes including crimes against humanity.
