Mother, daughter remanded over JP leader Salam’s death
A Dhaka court on Wednesday placed one Momota Begum, 50, and her daughter Kamrunnahar Chadni, 23, on five-day remand each in a case lodged over death of Jatiya Party (JP) central leader Abdus Salam Bahadur, 52.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ataullah passed the order as police produced the two before the court and pleaded to place them on seven-day remand each, reports BSS.
Police on Tuesday arrested Momota and her daughter in separate raids in Dhaka and Manikganj.
Body of Salam recovered from in front of the emergency department of Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital in Dhaka on July 15.
It was learned that a girl and boy dumped the body of the JP leader from a red car at around 11.30pm on July 15 and fled the scene.
