Four get life in prison for farmer murder
A court in Faridpur has sentenced four people to life-term imprisonment for the murder of a farmer.
The lifers are Emdadul Sheikh, 46, Miraz Sheikh, 32, Ershad Sikder, 34, and Jabber Sikder, 49, residents of Kundu Ramdia village in Boalmari upazila.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Court-1 Judge Ashok Kumar Dutta handed down the verdict on Sunday.
The court also fined them 20,000 each and in default, they will have to serve four months more in jail.
Public prosecutor advocate Nabab Ali Mridha confirmed the matter to Jago News.
The case statement said Abdul Kuddus Sheikh, a resident of Kundu Ramdia village, was killed in an attack by his neighbours on February 9 of 2009 over a trivial matter.
Later, his son Zakir Hossain filed a murder case against eight people with Boalmari Police Station in this connection.
