Seven dengue patients die; 1623 hospitalized in 24 hrs

Seven dengue patients died and 1623 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours (from Friday 8 am to Saturday 8 am).

With the latest death, a total of 100 people died of dengue to date this year, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said.

Currently, 4,947 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.

Of them, 3,238 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 1709 are in other divisions

As many as 19,454 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 14,407 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
