US Under Secretary Uzra meets PM Hasina

US Under Secretary for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights Uzra Zeya met Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her official residence in Dhaka on Thursday morning.

US Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu and Deputy Assistant Administrator of the Bureau for Asia, USAID Anjali Kaur were, among others, present.

During the meeting, various issues including upcoming national elections, human rights, refugee situation were discussed between the two sides.

Zeya is also scheduled to hold meetings with Prime Minister’s Private Sector Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F Rahman, Law Minister Anisul Huq, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan, and Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen.

She arrived in Dhaka on Tuesday afternoon on a four-day visit after concluding her visit to India.
