Nasimon-motorcycle collision kills 2 in Kushtia

Two motorcyclists were killed in a head-on collision between their motorcycle and a shallow engine-run Nasimon in Kushtia on Wednesday.

The accident took place on Kushtia-Rajbari regional highway at Kalumor area in Kumarkhali upazila around 11:30am. 

The deceased were identified as Shahin Miah, 42, son of Samsul Alam of Jajadanga village in Damurhuda upazila and Md Ikramul, 22, son of Md Salam of Nastipur village in Darshana upazila of Chuadanga.

Md Bukhtiar Uddin, Inspector of Kumarkhali Fire Service and Civil Defence, said the Nasimon collided head-on with the motorcycle, leaving one dead on the spot and another injured. Later, the injured died on the way to Kushtia Sadar Hospital.

Taposh Kumar Paul, Medical Officer of the hospital, said Ikramul died before reaching the hospital.

Confirming the matter to Jago News, Subrata, Officer-in-charge of Kushtia Highway Police Station, said police are working over the matter.
