Dhaka Residential College student goes missing in Piyain River

A student of Dhaka Residential Model College has gone missing in Piyain River in Jaflong of Sylhet.

Missing Alwaz Arash, 15, is a ninth grader at the institution and son of police inspector Zahedul Hossain, a resident of Shidlai village in Brahmanpara upazila of Cumilla.

Local sources said Arash along with his parents and younger brother toured Jaflong from Dhaka and at one stage, he and his father went to water in Piyaing River to take a bath but went under the water.

Later, local people managed to rescue Zahedul but Arash went missing.

Jaflong tourist police's inspector Md Ratan Sheikh told Jago News that police, Border Guard Bangladesh, and Fire Service and Civil Defence personnel were conducting rescue operations.
