Two dengue patients die; 509 hospitalized in 24 hrs

Two dengue patients died and 509 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours (from Saturday 8 am to Sunday 8 am).

With the latest death, a total of 52 people died of dengue to date this year, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said.

Currently, 1,388 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.

Of them, 966 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 422 are in other divisions.

As many as 8,757 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 7,317 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
