Two dengue patients die; 500 hospitalized in 24 hrs

Two dengue patients died and 500 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours (from Friday 8 am to Saturday 8 am).

With the latest death, a total of 42 people died of dengue to date this year, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said.

Currently, 1,503 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.

Of them, 1,159 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 344 are in other divisions.

As many as 6,839 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 5,294 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
