Two die during construction of septic tank

Two workers died during the construction of a septic tank due to insufficient oxygen in Rangpur city on Friday morning.

The deceased were identified as Liton Mia, 28, son of Shamsul Haque, a resident of Bakhtiarpur area and Humayun Ahmed, 35, son of late Abdul Mannan of Panbazar area.

The incident took place in Bakhtiarpur Chairman Mor area under 10 No. Ward around 11:30 am.

Police and locals said two workers died due to oxygen shortage when they were constructing a septic tank of a building.

Hazirhat Police Station officer in-charge Razib Basunia said it was an accident and the bodies were handed over to the respective families as they did not make any complaint.
