Eight get life in Munshiganj murder case

A court in Dhaka has sentenced eight people to life-term imprisonment in the murder case of a man in Munshiganj.

The lifers are Kamal Molla, Jalal Molla, Billal Molla, Harun Molla, Mohsin Molla, Amir Hossain, Zakir Hossain and Zaber Hossain.

Dhaka Speedy Trial Tribunal Judge Masud Karim handed down the verdict on Wednesday.

The court also fined them Tk 50,000 each and in default, they will have to serve another year in jail.

The case statement said the accused kidnapped victim Sohel Pradhan, 26, son of Nasir Uddin, a resident of Tengarchar village under Gazaria Police Station in Munshiganj, from Mirpur in Dhaka on May 5 of 2017 and killed him over previous enmity. 

Later, his mother filed a case with Gazaria Police Station in this connection.
