Lightning kills 2 in Sherpur

Two farmers were killed and injured two others in a lightning strike in separate area of Sherpur district on Friday.

The deceased were identified as Josna Mia, 55, son of Izzat Ali, a resident of Daripara village and Mia Hossen, 45, son of Hamid Ali, a resident of Kalinagar village in Nalitabari Upazila.

Local sources said, a streak of thunderbolt struck Josna Mia while he was plowing at a field in the area around 12:45 pm, leaving dead on the spot.

Dr. Mobarok Hossen Medical official of Sherpur Sadar Hospital confirmed the incident.

As opposed to, Mia Hossen was killed by lightning in Nalitabari upazila around 12:30 pm while he was plowing at a field with tractor, leaving him dead on the spot.

Fashiur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Nalitabari Police Station confirmed the incident.
