Man killed, wife injured in lightning strikes

A man was killed and his wife injured in lightning strikes in Bera upazila of Pabna on Tuesday afternoon.

Deceased Arab Fakir, 50, was a resident of Shisharchar under Natunbharenga union in the upazila.

Thunderbolts struck Fakir and his wife Nazma Khatun, 45, when they were working in a field during rain, leaving Fakir dead on the spot and Nazma seriously injured.

Later, she was admitted to Pabna General Hospital.

Natunbharenga union parishad chairman Abu Daud confirmed the matter.

Bera Model Police Station officer in-charge Md Hadiul Islam said police visited the spot.
