One dengue patient dies; 305 hospitalized in 24 hrs

One dengue patient died and 305 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours (from Saturday 8 am to Sunday 8 am).

With the latest death, a total of 34 people died of dengue to date this year, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said.

Currently, 1,118 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.

Of them, 870 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 248 are in other divisions.

As many as 4,908 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 3,756 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
